This pretty and varied circular walk is based on the village of Danbury, which is located on a hill to the east of Chelmsford and is surrounded by woodland and common land. The walk passes through the grounds of the 16th century Danbury Palace, crosses several woodlands and common lands and includes a short walk along the River Chelmer. The route involves a small degree of road walking. Parts of the walk, especially through the wooded sections, can get muddy after rain.
