Based on Hockley Rail Station, this is a circular walk that initially makes its way north to and then follows the River Crouch eastward before climbing to the village of Canewdon. It then follows the Roach Valley Way back to Hockley via Ashingdon. The walk involves some road walking.

Commences and ends at Hockley Rail Station (on the Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria line) - Grid Reference TQ 843927.
Going: Mainly flat, but with some gradual climbs and descents (Medium)
Distance: Approximately 12.2 miles (19.6 Km)
