This undulating scenic circular walk starts and ends in the village of Ingatestone and includes a windmill, several churches and two old houses. There is some road walking as you leave Ingatestone, but thereafter the walk involves only a few short stretches of quiet country lanes. Whilst the walk is well signposted in the main, it involves crossing a number of fields and, therefore, can get indistinct (and muddy) after the fields have been ploughed.
Use OS Explorer Maps 175 and 183; alternatively, use OS Landranger Map 167.
Starts and ends at Ingatestone rail station on the Liverpool Street to Braintree and Harwich lines - Grid Reference TQ 650992.
Going: Mainly flat, with some gradual climbs/descents (Relatively easy)
Distance: Approximately 8 miles (12 Km).
Pubs: There are 2 pubs in Mountnessing and several in Ingatestone High Street.
