Stock and Mill Green Circular Walk

This walk starts and ends in the village of Stock. Its route passes through varied countryside, from woods to river valleys, passes a fifteenth-century church and includes a stop at the pretty village of Mill Green. There are two options for the return route.

Use OS Explorer Maps 175 and 183; alternatively, use the OS Landranger Map 167.

Starts at a bus stop at the northern end of Stock village - Grid Reference TQ 690990 - and ends in the middle of Stock.

Going: Mainly flat (Easy). However, this walk has a disproportionately large number of stiles for its length.

Distance: Longer option, via Margaretting Tye on the return part of the route: 9.7 miles (15.5 Km); shorter option: 8.6 miles (13.8 Km)

Pubs: There are pubs in Margaretting, Mill Green, Margaretting Tye and Stock. Most do food between 12 and 2pm at lunchtime, and again in the evening. Some close on weekday afternoons.
