Stock and Galleywood Walk
This walk starts and ends in the village of Stock and includes the village of Galleywood, which is located between Billericay and Chelmsford. Although it involves a little road walking, it is a pretty walk.
Use OS Explorer Maps 175 & 183; alternatively, OS Landranger Maps 167 & 168.
This is one of the few walks that uses buses rather than the railway system. It starts and ends at the centre of Stock (Grid Reference TQ 690990), on the 100 bus route (140 on Sunday) from Billericay and Chelmsford.
Going: Relatively flat (Easy)
Distance: Approximately 6.6 miles (10.5 Km)
Pubs: There is a pub on the Stock Road , just north of Stock, another in Galleywood, another in Margaretting Tye and several in Stock - see Walk Details.
