This walk follows the Essex Way between White Notley and Chatham Green and passes through very pretty and varied countryside on the way.

Use OS Explorer Map 183; Alternatively, use OS Landranger Map 167.

The walk starts at White Notley railway station – Grid Reference TL 789187 - on the London Liverpool Street to Braintree line (note that, outside of the peak week-time period, there is only one train each hour on the Braintree service) and finishes at a bus stop on the A131 road near Chatham Green village – Grid Reference TL 717150 – from where you get the number 70 or number 352 buses to Chelmsford.

Going: Mainly flat, with a few gentle climbs and descents (Easy) Distance: Approximately 9.4 miles (15 Km).

Pubs: There is a pub in Fuller Street (approximately 6 miles (9.6 Km) from the start of the walk) and another at the end of the walk in Chatham Green.
