This scenic circular walk starts and ends in Wickford and includes a couple of fine viewpoints, visits to Hanningfield Reservoir and the village of Ramsden Heath and a walk through quiet woodland. There is only a small amount of road walking involved.
Use OS Explorer Map 175; alternatively, use the OS Landranger Maps 167 & 178.
Starts and ends at Wickford rail station on the Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria and Southminster lines - Grid Reference TQ 745937.
Going: Undulating, with a few steady climbs/descents (Moderate)
Distance: There are two variations to this walk - one of 7.3 miles (11.7 Km) and the other of 8.2 miles (13.1 Km).
Pubs: There are pubs in Ramsden Heath (reached in approximately 2 hours from the start of the walk) and another in Wickford.
